How past harness racing stats can help you in upcoming races

There’s a lot of different factors that go into a horse’s performance in a harness race. To understand these, there’s many, many statistics you need to be across. Most important of course is the horse itself.

Is it fit? Is it coming off a spell or is it well into its preparation?

What is its career profile – it the horse improving with age and maturity, or is it past its best and on the way down?

But of course, the horse is not the only factor that you need to take into account. What about the trainer and their statistics? Is there a pattern to the way they prepare their horses for racing?

Can you count on them having the horse ready to go for today’s race, or might it need another run or two? Are they a local trainer who knows the conditions at this track backwards?

There’s also the driver: the one tasked with steering the horse to victory. An experienced driver will know how to negotiate certain situations and make decisions in the run. Or are you dealing with a young driver who may not yet possess those abilities?

These questions and plenty of others can be answered at Racenet. Racenet has always been Australia’s favourite online form guide for thoroughbred racing, and now we are working towards including harness racing as well.
